MK Gilad Kariv of the Labor Party arrived on Wednesday morning for a tour of Homesh, after the army recently approved the construction of a permanent building in state territory there.
The purpose of Kariv's tour is to "follow up on the hijacking" that was done when the permanent structure of the yeshiva was established. Kariv was accompanied in Homesh by a team of the left-wing Peace Now movement.

MK Gilad Kariv: "The establishment of the permanent building of the Homesh yeshiva was done in a hurry and illegally that harmed the IDF's relations with the elected political echelon. This is a dangerous precedent that must not be allowed to be repeated. The government's moves in northern Samaria will significantly increase friction between Israelis and Palestinians in the region and will harm the IDF's ability to cope with ongoing security missions and the strategic security threats facing the State of Israel."
The Peace Now movement said: "Contrary to the position of the defense establishment and contrary to explicit political commitments to the United States, the State of Israel has surrendered to Smotrich and his friends and is establishing a new settlement in an area that was evacuated by disengagement and not by chance."
