Berlin/Munich – Shortly before the first of four planned concerts of the "New German Hardness" rockers Rammstein in Munich, the allegations against bandleader Till Lindemann (60) are making ever higher waves. In the wake of the allegations about Lindemann and his treatment of women, the band is now said to have parted ways with their assistant Alena Makeeva. First, on Tuesday evening (6 June), Bild reported on the personnel in its online presence.

Rammstein allegations make higher waves: Band fires controversial director Alena Makeeva

According to consistent reports from the media and possible witnesses, Makeeva is said to be responsible for the "Lindemann" system and the castings of women for the so-called "Row Zero", which are said to have been fed backstage to the singer of the band during or afterwards. The accusations against the band and their singer are in the room. For Lindemann and the band, however, the presumption of innocence still applies. Nevertheless, fans of the band are already returning their tickets for the concerts in Munich.

Initially, it had become public through the reporting of Die Welt that Makeeva had been banned from access to Rammstein concerts by the band's management with immediate effect. According to the Bild report, the 35-year-old Russian is currently still in Munich, but should soon start her journey home to Russia. As a further reaction to the fierce allegations, bandleader Lindemann has since deleted his personal profile on Instagram.

Rammstein probably fires Lindemann assistant Alena Makeeva: Band turns on lawyer after allegations

Meanwhile, the band investigates the allegations themselves. According to information from the dpa news agency, a law firm was called in by the band Rammstein after the start of the current tour in Vilnius in Lithuania. Previously, WDR and Die Welt had reported on the commissioning of the law firm. The aim is therefore to clarify the situation. This involves, for example, the alleged use of drugs without the knowledge of those involved in the context of the concert. Here, too, the presumption of innocence continues to apply to the band.

In recent days, several women have made allegations against Rammstein frontman Till Lindemann, some of them anonymously. The women describe situations that they sometimes found frightening. Young women were selected during concerts and asked if they wanted to come to the after-show party. According to some women, sexual acts are also said to have occurred.

Among others, 21-year-old YouTuber Kayla Shyx recently broke her silence. Shyx reports that she only now dares to break her silence and says that she narrowly escaped the "very dangerous situation" at a Rammstein concert in 2022. She had already shot a clip about her oppressive experience at the time, but "I was advised by my old management to delete the story".

Rammstein comments on allegations against Lindemann: "We condemn any kind of assault"

In a statement, Rammstein said that the allegations had hit them very hard and that they were taken extremely seriously. "We say to our fans: It's important to us that you feel comfortable and safe at our shows – in front of and behind the stage." The weekend's letter continued: "We condemn any kind of abuse and ask you: do not participate in public prejudice of any kind against those who have made allegations. They have a right to their point of view." But the band also has a right – namely not to be prejudged either.

From Wednesday on, four Rammstein concerts are planned in Munich. Some changes have already been announced there: For example, there will be no so-called "Row Zero" in Munich – which the Greens, among others, had demanded – and no after-show parties. In addition, the management has announced an awareness concept, details of which are not yet available. (jon/dpa)
