At the University of Aix-Marseille, some services no longer had a work tool on Wednesday. The institute was the victim in the morning of a cyberattack, which did not however do much damage, a priori thanks to a very rapid intervention, said the management.
"The attack, which obviously came from a foreign country, occurred mid-morning. It could have done great damage if the monitoring system had not triggered the alert immediately, which made it possible to cut off the entire network, "explained the management of this university which has the largest number of students in France (80,000).
"A business recovery plan will begin on Wednesday evening, before a very gradual restart of services on Thursday," she added. The court has not been seized at this stage but will be if a theft of data is found. Classes are not disrupted.
Several victims in recent months
Several institutions, town halls such as Lille or Rouen or hospitals such as Brest, have been victims of cyberattacks in recent months.
Another attack by pro-Russian hackers targeted the websites of several French town halls this spring. For example, the hackers broadcast in Cyrillic on the Bry-sur-Marne site "pro-Russian propaganda messages, to knowRespect Russia! Otherwise we will continue to make war on you, "said the prefecture of Val-de-Marne in early May.
