Highlights: For high school students in Première abroad: it's already time for the early French tests! Here are the subjects of the writing of the bac fran. The early tests of the French baccalaureate for the metropolis will take place on June 15 for the written and from 19 to 30 for the oral test (personal convocation) The use of the calculator and dictionary is not allowed. The candidate deals with the choice of one of the following three subjects, taking into account the work and the associated course studied during the year.

Here is the subject of the French test at the end of Première which was held this Wednesday, June 7, 2023 for all high school students enrolled in French high schools abroad. Yesterday was held the test of Philo for high school students of Terminales also living abroad.

Reminder of the dates of the bac 2023: the early tests of the French baccalaureate for the metropolis will take place on June 15 for the written and from 19 to 30 for the oral test (personal convocation).

Duration of the test: 4 hours

Coefficient: 5

The use of the calculator and dictionary is not allowed.

You will deal with either the comment or one of the essay topics:

1- Comment (20 points)

Object of study: The literature of ideas from the sixteenth century to the eighteenth century

The candidate deals with the choice of one of the following three subjects, taking into account the work and the associated course studied during the year:

A. Work: Molière, The Imaginary Sick

Itinerary: Show and comedy

Referring to Molière's theatre, one critic asserts that "everything [is] appearance, everything seeks to please [it]." Does this seem to you to be able to characterize The Imaginary Patient?

You will respond in an organized development. Your reflection will be based on the work of Molière on the program, on the work carried out as part of the associated course and on your literary culture.

B. Work: Marivaux, false confidences

Background: Theatre and stratagem

Is the final victory of love the result of the stratagems put in place by the various characters, or, as one critic proposes, the result of a "favorable chance" to Dorante?

You will answer this question in an organized development. Your reflection will be based on Marivaux's work on the program, on the work carried out as part of the associated course and on your literary culture.

C. Work: Jean-Luc Lagarce, Just the End of the World

Path: Personal crisis, family crisis

Are the crises exposed in Just the End of the World related to the decisions made by the characters?

You will answer this question in an organized development. Your reflection will be based on the work of Jean-Luc Lagarce on the program, on the work carried out as part of the associated course and on your literary culture.

You will deal with one of the following two topics:

1- Text commentary (20 points)

Object of study: Theatre from the seventeenth century to the twenty-first century.

Text: Alfred de Musset, Il faut qu'une porte est ouvert ou fermé, scène unique, 1845.

The Marchioness is a young woman who lives alone and is bored. She receives visits from the Count and mocks his attempts at seduction, while complaining that she has no romantic feelings.

The candidate deals, taking into account the work and the course studied during the year, one of the following three subjects:

A – Work: Rabelais, Gargantua, chapters XI to XXIV. Path: the right education.

You will develop your answer to this question in an organized way, based on Rabelais' Gargantua (chapters XI to XXIV), on the text of the contraction exercise (text by René Blanchet) and on those you have studied during the year as part of the object of study "The literature of ideas from the sixteenth century to the eighteenth century". You will also be able to use your readings and your personal culture.

B – Work: La Bruyère, Les Caractères, Book XI "De l'Homme". Course: painting people, examining human nature.

C – Work: Olympe de Gouges, Declaration of the Rights of Women and of the Citizen (from the "preamble" to the "postamble"). Journey: writing and fighting for equality.
