Highlights: A hole opened up in the middle of Tutzinger Straße early Tuesday evening. Firefighters and police cordoned off the area in front of Greinwaldstraße. The lockdown will last at least until Wednesday. If possible, the Tutzing area should be bypassed extensively. The rehabilitation of Tutzing thoroughfare is scheduled to start in mid-July. The church road, which was intended as a diversion, is still closed. Neither on the main road nor on the church road can vehicles get through.

In Tutzing, the main road is closed after an undermining. The repair will last at least until Wednesday afternoon.

Tutzing – If you want to go through Tutzing, you'd better go somewhere else at the moment: A hole opened up in the middle of Tutzinger Straße early Tuesday evening. The reason is apparently a sewer rupture, combined with underwashing. The hole, about the size of a manhole cover in the evening, reaches deep underground. The fire brigade and police were quickly on the spot and cordoned off the area in front of Greinwaldstraße. Traffic was still able to continue on one lane. Nevertheless, long traffic jams formed in and around Tutzing.

But it quickly became clear that a full closure of this area could not be avoided. How long it will last, could not be foreseen on Tuesday evening. In any case, it will not be possible to drive through the centre of Tutzing in the near future. Employees of the road construction company Strobl from Frieding took a look at the gift-giving, and the work is to begin immediately. The closure only affects the area around the junction of Greinwaldstraße. To the south and to the north, the road connections will remain. Foreigners should avoid Tutzing.

This was also advised by the Starnberg police late on Thursday evening. "When the patrol crew of the Starnberg police arrived, a hole in the ground about 5 meters deep and 1.50 by 1 meter wide was found. After the ground continued to subside, after consultation with the authorities involved, the area around the hole in the ground was completely closed off and a diversion was set up," it said in a statement. The lockdown will last at least until Wednesday. The detour route is signposted. If possible, the Tutzing area should be bypassed extensively. The State Building Authority and the municipality of Tutzing have been informed.

The immediate repair of the damaged area is necessary, although the rehabilitation of the Tutzing thoroughfare is almost imminent - it is scheduled to start in mid-July. Since the church road, which was then intended as a diversion, is still closed, there is now a double difficulty for the passage in Tutzing: Neither on the main road nor on the church road can vehicles get through.

Kirchenstraße has been closed for months due to the renovation of a bridge. It was supposed to be free weeks ago, but due to delivery and other difficulties, completion was delayed several times. Currently, the municipality expects that the church road will be passable again from the end of June or beginning of July – just in time for the work on the main road. (nz)
