This plan includes both the creation of places in specialized childcare facilities and the deployment of new home support facilities. In total, the state has identified 20 departments in tension, where the needs are more urgent due to "a strong demographic influx". Hauts-de-France, Nord and the overseas departments are at the top of the ranking.

The Minister Delegate for Persons with Disabilities Geneviève Darrieussecq has allocated a budget to the "50,000 solutions" plan, which aims to welcome and support people with disabilities.

The State is committed to helping people with disabilities and their families. Two billion euros will be released by 2024 to 2030, announced this Wednesday, June 7, the Minister Delegate for People with Disabilities at the microphone of RMC. This budget will be devoted to the implementation of the "50,000 solutions" plan, announced by Emmanuel Macron last April at the national conference on disability. This plan includes both the creation of places in specialized childcare facilities and the deployment of new home support.

The Minister's announcement comes at a time when tensions are growing among families of people with disabilities. They denounce the glaring lack of places in reception facilities specializing in France. According to them, these establishments are the only way to really relieve them. The tense situation is forcing many families to send their loved ones to Belgium, where places in nursing homes compensate for the French sector in crisis.

Today there are 10,000 young adults in medical-educational institutes (IME) reserved for children and adolescents because they do not have a place in adult institutions, "recognizes to the Figaro the ministry in charge of People with disabilities. "These living spaces make it possible to take care of and accompany people with disabilities. But not all of them need such a great deal of help. That's why we want to offer home support solutions," he continues.

'Families without a solution'

Through its plan to two billion euros, the government intends to "free places" to meet the demands of families. "It is not acceptable for families to be without a solution or with unsatisfactory answers. Our goal is therefore to provide concrete answers as close as possible to needs, department by department, "details the Minister Delegate Geneviève Darrieussecq.

In total, the state has identified 20 departments in tension, where the needs are more urgent due to "a strong demographic influx". Hauts-de-France, Nord and the overseas departments are at the top of the ranking. The ministry nevertheless ensures that these solutions will concern "the whole country".

The choice of these 50,000 solutions - which includes the creation of reception places and the deployment of support for people at home - will be placed in the hands of the regional health agencies (ARS). "They will deploy these measures according to the needs of their territories," says the ministry. In addition, the minister requested a comprehensive study to obtain "reliable data on the exact number of places that the different departments need. This work is about to be concluded."
