Penzberg – The permanent construction site on the A95 between Seeshaupt and Sindelsdorf is nearing its end. According to Autobahn GmbH Südbayern, the final installation of the asphalt surface course is to take place next week. This is the completion of the so-called "conservation project", which was started in 2021.

Actually, the asphalt surface course should have been applied at that time, but due to the renewal of the motorway bridge in Penzberg, the project was postponed. This was intended to prevent the new road surface from being excessively stressed again by the construction site traffic routing, according to Autobahn GmbH.

Then the A95 motorway between Seeshaupt and Sindelsdorf is closed

Next week, this work will now be carried out in the section between Seeshaupt and Sindelsdorf. For this purpose, the motorway between the aforementioned junctions will be completely closed to traffic from Monday, 12 June, to Friday, 16 June, from 19 p.m. to 6 a.m. The builders point out that motorists must also be prepared for obstructions during the day due to reworking and marking work. Detour routes are signposted, but you should plan more time for trips after 19 p.m. and before 6 a.m., it continues.

The bridge at the Penzberg junction and the railway bridge near Iffeldorf 200 metres further south were over 50 years old and in need of renovation. As part of an economic feasibility study, it was determined that demolition and new construction is more cost-effective than an extensive general repair, as both bridges also had static deficits. The roadway had also reached an age that made it necessary to renew. That is why intensive construction has been carried out in this area in recent years.
