Hamburg - With the second leg of HSV's Bundesliga relegation against VfB Stuttgart, Sat.1 scored a clear ratings victory on Monday evening. At its peak, more than 5.5 million people watched the Swabians' 3-1 away win against the North Germans there, as reported by DWDL, among others. In the first half there were around 4.8 million people, in the second 45 minutes there were another 700,000 spectators. This corresponded to a market share of 19.1 to 24.3 percent.

No chance for "The Wheel" on RTL

Of the young audience, a maximum of around 1.7 million people tuned in, which corresponded to a market share of 24.9 to 30.4 percent. Even in the preliminary reports (13.1 percent) and analyses afterwards (19.4 percent), the 14- to 49-year-olds tuned in strongly.

RTL broadcast a new episode of "The Wheel" at primetime after a long break. However, this only reached just under 1.2 million people, 460,000 of whom were in the young target group. This corresponded to a market share of 1.8 percent – far behind Sat.0. But no other show on Monday evening reached the young audience better than "The Wheel".

Even the first leg attracted the spectators – despite sound problems

The first leg on Thursday had already given Sat.1 rich ratings and made it the winner of the day. In the evening, it was a good 25 percent market share in the first half and even around 31 percent in the second half. On average, up to 5.5 million fans watched on free TV.

At the beginning, the transmission had to struggle with massive sound problems. In addition to a clearly audible noise and hum, a conversation between moderator Matthias Opdenhövel (52) and expert Markus Babbel (50) was shown without sound. Also at the beginning of the encounter, several spectators complained about sound problems, for which commentator Wolff-Christoph Fuss (46) apologized emphatically.

But even in the pop world, the battle for the audience is raging. Andy Borg was able to record a mega success with his "Schlagerspaß" and even left Barbara Schöneberger and Hans Sigl behind with the "Starnacht". Sources used: DWDL, AGF-TV data
