Kilauea, a volcano in Hawaii, began erupting Wednesday morning, creating a spectacular image of lava flows in the floor of the crater around it, the U.S. government said through the Federal Geological Survey Agency (USGS).
The mountain, on the largest island of the American state in the Pacific Ocean, erupted last January, and volcanic activity continued at a low level until March, and now it has officially erupted again at 4:44 a.m. local time.

"The early stages of an eruption are always dynamic," the agency said, adding that for the time being, "activity remains only in the area of the crater but a risk assessment will be conducted later as the eruption continues."
The volcano is located in the enclosed area within Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, which has some of the most active volcanoes in the world. In 2019, a series of earthquakes and eruptions on the mountain led to the destruction of hundreds of homes and businesses.
