In an accident on the B 301 near Attenkirchen, a man from the Czech Republic was catapulted into the adjacent thicket in his car. It was not until two days later that he was found seriously injured.

Freising – The story sounds like a script: It is Sunday, early in the morning at 6 o'clock, when a 37-year-old is driving his Skoda on the B 301 from Attenkirchen in the direction of Zolling. Due to a microsleep, he veers off the road to the right shortly after Attenkirchen and drives into the adjacent ditch. The journey doesn't end here: As he slides over an elevated field entrance, his vehicle is literally catapulted into the air, hits a tree at a height of two meters after about ten meters and stops under it – hidden by the thicket, according to Freising police.

Seriously injured, mobile phone broken: 37-year-old can not draw attention to himself

Due to the severity of his injuries and the adverse circumstances at the scene of the accident, the 37-year-old can neither call for help nor draw attention to himself in any way. In the accident, his mobile phone was so badly damaged that it no longer works. The man lies seriously injured next to his car for many hours.

54-year-old from the district of Freising becomes a guardian angel

More than 48 hours later, on Tuesday at 10 a.m., a 54-year-old woman from the district of Freising informed the police: she had noticed a vehicle in the ditch in this hard-to-see place. Police, fire brigade and ambulance immediately set off and find the man in his dramatic situation at the place reported by the woman. Now everything has to happen quickly: The injured person can be stabilized at the scene of the accident and is taken to a nearby hospital. The police later wrote in their press report: "Thanks to the attentive road user, a worse outcome as a result of the serious injuries could be prevented."

Firefighters must cut the way for the doctors

The following detail also shows how well the various rescue forces worked together: In order for doctors and paramedics to get to the injured person at all, the Attenkirchen fire brigade, which was on site with three vehicles and 14 members, first had to cut the way clear - which happened at record speed.

Another detail, which in this context, however, becomes a minor matter: The car was a total loss of around 8000 euros.
