Humbert Rambaud and Vincent Piednoir: "The worrying revolution in our fields and our plates"

Humbert Rambaud and Vincent Piednoir are respectively the editor-in-chief and deputy editor-in-chief of "Jours de Chasse".

It is not yet a revolution - because history is not written - but its spirit is already floating there, there, perhaps, where one would least expect it. In the fields as in our plates, something of a new nature is engaged. Two recent news stories bear witness to this. First, the publication, on May 23, of a report by the Court of Auditors on the public support received by cattle farmers between 2015 and 2022: the wise men of the rue Cambon recommend "a significant reduction in livestock" due, in particular, to the "unfavorable climate balance" due to methane emissions from these animals during their digestion. Second element: a few days earlier - on May 17 - Bruno Le Maire, who we knew better inspired, had, during the inauguration of a factory of "vegetable meat" located in the Loiret, enthusiastic about this substitute to food ...
