Highlights: In its ninth annual general meeting, Nachbarschaftshilfe Fraunberg (NBH) looked back on an eventful year. In 603 missions, it supported people in exceptional situations and thus also relieved relatives of those in need. In addition, there are 129 missions in the dwarf garden, which has been affiliated for five years. In its ninth annual general meeting, Nachbarschaftshilfe Fraunberg (NBH) looked back on an eventful year: In 603 missions, it supported people in exceptional situations and thus also relieved relatives of those in need. Fraunberg – So 1033 volunteer hours came together, in which the helpers were there for their fellow human beings. And one more large number: 5329 kilometers were covered in everything.

Chairwoman Dagmar von Fraunberg proudly took stock in the Bürgersaal. At the beginning, Stephanie Ahlgrim, Tanja Endres and Anita Herz presented the work of the district's care base. Her conclusion: "The external consultation hours in Fraunberg are very well received. We network with the providers in the communities, such as neighbourhood help, care services, care consultants, and are in close contact with the BRK in Erding." It is important "that citizens dare to come to us when needed. We also make home visits, there has never been a situation that we have not been able to solve," says Ahlgrim. Registrations can be made by e-mail to pflegestuetzpunkt@lra-ed.de or by calling (0 81 22) 58 18 00.

There is not only a lot of work behind the NBH figures, but also a lot of heart and soul, as the annual reports showed. Rita Sainer from the operations management said: "Volunteer childcare is becoming more and more important for us. Our helpers are prudent people who build trust and take responsibility. They bring joy and color into the everyday lives of those in need."

Secretary Christel Rasthofer: "The assignments included, among other things, regular visiting services for the elderly, shopping support and transport services to the doctor or day care, but also childcare or short-term domestic help as well as gardening in case of illness. It was also possible to provide assistance with official matters. In this way, a total of 2022 helpers were on the road on behalf of NBH in 20."

"It cannot be overestimated," says von Fraunberg, "that if no helper can be found at short notice, the operations management sometimes stepped in themselves and took over assistance."

In the refugee house in Grucking, Hansjörg Walther has been working tirelessly for the current 28 residents for ten years. Last year, he helped 216 hours on 1040 days and covered more than 10,000 kilometers in his car. He is particularly pleased that the municipality has implemented an Internet connection. It is also pleasing that the daycare trips for the refugee children can take place again thanks to three new drivers. In addition, Walther sharply criticized the bureaucratic hurdles: "If the district office does not support, a child does not get its mother to Germany," said Walther. "It's almost superhuman what you're doing," the chairwoman praised him.

A success story is the dwarf garden for children up to the age of three with director and educator Eva Schraufstetter and her six colleagues in the Reichenkirchen parish home. "Together with the library, the grand opening was celebrated in the summer after safety renovations due to fire protection. We already have 2023 registrations for September 18. There will probably be two groups with reduced hours, but we can only make the decision during the long summer holidays," Schraufstetter informed.

The handicraft group with 25 people, led by Elvira Stulberger, is very active. "It's not just coffee and cake. It's all about exchange, handicrafts and fun. We want to know how you're doing," says Stulberger.

For health reasons, the monthly reading café at the Strasserwirt in Oberbierbach with Egon Weiß is currently discontinued. To this end, the NBH was also involved in the holiday programme last year.

With a bouquet of flowers and applause, Karen Heintges was bid farewell after three years as treasurer and assessor. She is quitting for personal reasons and will remain connected to the neighbourhood help with words and deeds. Her post was not filled.

Mayor Hans Wiesmaier described the NBH as a "centre of excellence for charity". The 2022 community award winners, Walther and Stulberger, were not chosen by chance.

The new elections went off without a hitch. Von Fraunberg remains chairwoman, 2nd chairwoman Gerda Bart, treasurer Thomas Ott and secretary Christel Rasthofer. Rasthofer, Sainer and Jürgen Notka will continue in their positions as heads of operations. Assessors are Walther, Stulberger, Monika Feuchtgruber and Anja von Fraunberg, while Franz Angermeier and Joachim Homann remain auditors.

Excitement for the future is already on offer – with the prospect of premises in the Jägerhaus, including a usage concept for a future House of Encounter.
