The modernization of the playground at Johannisplatz is scheduled to begin soon. The special thing about it is that the children can plant plants - and thus lend a hand themselves during the construction campaign.
Geretsried – In a few weeks, the renovation of the playground at Johannisplatz will begin – with the active participation of the users. In summer, the children of the residential area will be able to climb and swing on new equipment and play in the sand.
Geretsried: Renovation of playground at Johannisplatz to begin in a few weeks
As reported, the youth council had carried out a participation campaign to find out how the girls and boys imagine the playground. A great wish was an imaginative climbing frame. Such a building is to be built in the middle of the square. This is a dome up to three meters high made of densely set wooden trunks with small platforms in between. Tethers, lianas and nets will hang from it. It is to be built between the three large trees. The slide scaffold is well preserved and can remain.
In the future, children will be able to dig all around. Benches and a table for parents have also been thought of. A paved path will lead through the playground, on which scooters and bobby cars can also roll. The existing swing needs to be renewed. To increase the quality of stay, native berry bushes such as currant, chokeberry, cornelian, elderberry, blackberry and raspberry are to be planted along the existing fence. The cost estimate for the measure is 125,000 euros.
Renovation of the playground at Johannisplatz: "Children can plant plants and participate in construction campaigns"
The special feature is that the young residents of Johannisplatz are to help with the work themselves. "The children can plant plants and participate in the construction campaign," Sabrina Lorenz announced at the most recent meeting of the Youth Council. The participation activities will take place on 6 and 7 July and 12 and 13 July from 14 p.m. to 17 p.m. Children who have helped should be allowed to immortalize themselves. At the meeting, the panel discussed several possibilities: from a stele to a plaque to handprints or painted stones in concrete.

The youth councillors opted for the brick variant – they also voted for the purchase of a 100-piece sand toy set, which will be stored at the neighbourhood management at Johannisplatz. The modernised playground is scheduled to officially open on Sunday, 15 July.
Residents will be informed about the redesign by letter so that they can participate. nej
