The Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court extended the detention of Bar Shamai and Yitzhak Luria Ben David, both suspects in the murder of Shalev Aflalo. June 1, 2023 (Erez Harel)
The Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court today (Wednesday) ordered the release to house arrest of Chen Ziv, the driver suspected of Shalev Aflalo's murder. Ziv is the latest suspect to be released after the other three suspects were released yesterday in a case in which an accident investigation turned into a murder investigation.
Shelly, Shalev Aflalo's sister, insisted on digesting that all the suspects were out of prison. "I'm very disappointed. I expected that after eight months they would tell me the truth about what happened to my brother. As usual, the police did the padija. I'm very angry with the police," she told Walla!.
Rotem, Shalev Aflalo's sister, added in a conversation with Walla!: "In my eyes, Chen is a murderer whether he is accused or not. A person who gets into a car without a driver's license knowing is a silent killer. He destroyed our family and took away the light of our house. I hope he gets the maximum penalty that will deter all those who will ever think of getting into a vehicle without a license. And whether he planned or didn't plan, I leave it to the police and hope there will be justice here because I haven't had the last word yet."
