Many Israelis are currently planning their summer vacation, and in recent days there has been good news that will delight and save many of them a lot of money during the booking of their vacation and visit overseas.
The shekel strengthens very significantly against foreign currencies, and the amount of savings during vacations will be significant. For example, a family that spends NIS 20,600 in total on a vacation in the United States will save about NIS <> thanks to the decline felt over the past two days.

The dollar weakened by 10 agorot in less than three days to 3.65, a savings of NIS 100 per $1,000. The euro also weakened very significantly in the same time span and stands at 3.91 versus 4.02, a difference of 11 agorot in a short time.
The British pound weakened even more significantly in less than a week, dropping from 4.69 to 5.54, a savings of 150 shekels for every 1,000 pounds you convert. Other currencies that weakened markedly against the shekel were the Japanese yen and the Emirati dirham, two destinations to which many Israelis fly.

The Turkish lira has weakened so significantly against the shekel that the value of the Turkish lira is now at a decades-low low. The exchange rate of the Turkish lira traded at NIS 0.16 and weakened sharply against the shekel in the past two days.
What will happen next? Of course, there is no way to predict whether the shekel will continue to strengthen against foreign currencies, but this is undoubtedly news that, as of now, helps many Israelis save hundreds and in some cases thousands of shekels on vacation abroad.
