The shooter in the fight in Gan Ner, where 19-year-old Diyar Omari was killed, will be charged with murder, according to a prosecutor's statement filed Wednesday in the Magistrate's Court. The suspect, Dennis Mukin, 32, from the community, shot Omari to death last month, apparently following an argument on the road.
Outside the courthouse, demonstrators wave banners saying it was a cold-blooded murder motivated by nationalism, even though police have ruled out a nationalist direction in hearings so far. The murder occurred on May 6 in a community near Afula. The young man, from the village of Sandela, was critically wounded by the gunfire and evacuated to HaEmek Hospital in Afula, where he was pronounced dead. Following the incident, riots broke out at the entrance to the settlement. Ahmed Omari, Diyar's father, claimed that his son was murdered in cold blood. "If this case is disrespected, thousands and tens of thousands will take to the streets, demonstrate and block intersections," he warned.
Attorney Yuval Zemer, who represents Mukin, said, "On Sunday, the indictment will be filed and then we will also be exposed to the investigation materials. We will conduct the trial in the courtroom and not shouting outside the courtroom."

Hamas called Omri a "martyr" and said that "our heroic people will not transgress the crimes of the occupation and its settlers without reaction, escalate its resistance and avenge the blood of Omri and all the heroes of our people from Nablus and Tulkarm. The blood of our people is not cheap, and the enemy will pay a high price."
