Supply bottlenecks threaten: Retail in Bavaria is on strike – Edeka, Ikea, Rewe and others affected

On Wednesday, according to Verdi, the central warehouses in the Bavarian trade will be on strike. Therefore, there may be shortages in supply.

Regensburg – Bavarian retailers are still on strike after actions to this effect had already taken place at the beginning of May. Since the union and the employer were once again unable to agree on a new pay agreement, the next round of negotiations is scheduled for next week. In order to increase the pressure on the employers' side once again, Verdi called on employees in the central warehouses in particular to stop work on Wednesday, 7 June.

Strike in Bavarian retail: supply bottlenecks loom

Among other things, Verdi called for strike action for the Edeka stores in Regensburg, Netto stores in Lower Bavaria and Ikea in Regensburg. According to BR, the employees of "Alliance Healthcare", "Hoffmann Supply Chain" and "Phoenix" in Munich are also affected, as well as numerous different central warehouses in many parts of Bavaria.

In the course of the strike actions, there could be supply bottlenecks in the coming days, according to Verdi. Among other things, because there will be a lack of supplies from the striked central warehouses, the trade unionists warn.
