The PJ governors demanded a single candidate and a place for the provinces in the Frente de Todos ticket.

In the midst of growing pressure from the pre-candidates for president of the Frente de Todos, thirteen PJ governors met on Wednesday and agreed to demand a consensus candidate of the ruling party in the face of the PASO and that a provincial president of the party integrate the formula for the Casa Rosada.

In addition, the Peronist governors proposed the creation of a political action commission to negotiate within the Frente de Todos the pro-government armed forces for the next elections.

The meeting, in downtown Buenos Aires, was scheduled for next week but the times accelerated and Capitanich urged his peers to advance the summit to give room for the pre-candidates to meet their requests. Among other issues, they ask that in the presidential formulas there be a "federal approach".

Capitanich, who until a few months ago was expectant to compete, was relegated by Kirchnerism itself. However, he was designated by his peers as the only spokesperson authorized to speak after the summit. Called for 13 p.m., the start of the meeting was delayed because several arrived late. The first to appear for the CFI were Raúl Jalil (Catamarca), Gustavo Bordet (Entre Ríos), Ricardo Quintela (La Rioja), Gerardo Zamora (Santiago del Estero) and Sergio Ziliotto (La Pampa).

The movements of the governors were closely followed by the pre-candidates for President and by the head of La Cámpora, Máximo Kirchner. From the Renewal Front they do not hesitate to point them out as the main allies of the Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa, in his insistence that there be no inmates in the ruling party and that the unity candidate be designated. It is, precisely, the exclusive requirement that the tigrense put to head the ballot, something that at this time seems impossible due to the intransigence of Daniel Scioli, who warned that he will appear in the PASO although he calls him Cristina.

In the last hours, the Frente Renovador upped the ante and, through the Minister of Transport, Diego Giuliano, warned that they will continue "working in this political space to the extent that the coalition demonstrates the will to win the elections." This message was accompanied by intense negotiations with the governors: the massistas Mariano Arcioni (Chubut) and Gustavo Sáenz (Salta) pushed for a firm stance against the internal one.

Meanwhile, close to Scioli they say that in the last hours he activated contacts with at least five governors. He asked them "not to join those who do not want the people to decide at the polls" and guaranteed that he would propose a "controlled" PASO and "without grievances or disqualifications." "They know that Daniel would never put the unit at risk, they will not find any attack from him to a comrade. That is done by others and in Together for Change," they say.

Also attentive to what happens in the CFI is Interior Minister Eduardo "Wado" de Pedro, who has no objection to PASO, despite the fact that it is what Maximo Kirchner prefers and that he gathered enough political support to ensure his pre-candidacy.

Needing to rise in the polls so as not to be relegated to Cristina's decision, De Pedro opted to show himself with several of the governors on Tuesday afternoon at an event at the Kirchner Cultural Center.
