Action, reaction. While the Minister Delegate for Transport Clément Beaune put pressure on motorway managers on Wednesday morning to lower their prices a little in this period of high inflation, Vinci Autoroutes immediately proposed a solution. According to information from Le Parisien, the company will offer a 20% discount to motorists with an electronic toll subscription.

A welcome boost
Concretely, to benefit from this boost, it will be enough "to deposit up to 250 euros of holiday vouchers on an electronic toll subscription between June 15 and July 31" for the sum to be matched "20% of the amount, paid by Vinci Autoroutes," said a spokesman for Vinci Autoroutes to Le Parisien. That is a maximum gain of 50 euros. These 300 euros of prize pools can then be used at any time this summer as later in the year, on all the motorways of the Vinci Autoroutes network.
A gesture that responds to the request of Clément Beaune, who explicitly demanded this Wednesday on RTL French motorway companies "[they] make a commercial gesture". Last summer, a 10% discount was granted to motorists paying by holiday voucher. "But it arrived in mid-July, this year it must be done earlier," said the Minister of Transport.
The government requires a rebate on the price of tolls "of at least 10%" as well as a 40% discount for regular travelers. "I receive the highway companies next week" to determine "the modalities" of this measure, added the minister. For the latter, this gesture is essential while tolls have increased by 4.75% this year.
