The victim did not know the perpetrator of the fatal blow. She had just met him, during this impromptu party at his home on Friday. Five days after the fact, the fatal scene that took place in Montpon-Ménestérol is becoming clearer. At the heart of the case: cannabis, cocaine and alcohol and the four partygoers. "Without this consumption, this would never have happened. That day, the situation escalated to the dawn of a day that the 47-year-old victim will not experience. Six videos, filmed by the just-major sidekick who had guided her to this evening, tell it. In a context still unclear, we see this woman putting on a vest by bullets and asking her host to shoot her. "We are in an atmosphere of total unawareness of the risk, people laugh, there is no tension and the victim is not constrained in any way," says the magistrate of the Public Prosecutor's Office.
The first two or three shots, fired with a revolver, hit their target on the protection that fulfills its role. It was then decided to test another weapon. A shotgun. At 3:54 a.m., his trigger was pulled on at point-blank range, less than a meter from the victim. The ball is lodged in the lower belly of the forty-year-old whose bullet vest is poorly put or too short. The blow is deadly.
Panic and inconsistency
Then the three men on the spot panic. Two of them are under the influence of drugs and alcohol, while the third, aged 20, has abused only drink. One of them calls the fire department ten minutes later. Confused, unable to "understand where he is", he tells the emergency services that he is on the public road. Dispatched to the commune, his last will search, in vain, for the whereabouts of the wounded woman. According to the trio, she died instantly.
In circumstances that have yet to be clarified, the decision is then made to move the deceased. The occupant of the premises, known to the justice for several convictions for driving under the influence of alcohol, decides to transport her in his car without a license. But the machine does not start. It is therefore in the trailer of his bicycle that he moves the corpse that he then deposits, in full view of all, in the parking lot of the nearest cemetery, a few hundred meters away. In custody, he will explain "that he did not want the body to be found at home". By the time the police arrived at the crime scene, they had thoroughly cleaned them.
During their hearings, the three men, contrite after a stint in a sobering-up cell, seemed to realize the seriousness of the facts. Its main perpetrator, indicted for "altering a crime scene" and "violence resulting in death without intent", faces 20 years in prison. The victim's accomplice is accused of complicity because he filmed the scene. The third man, drunk but not drugged, is accused of "non-impediment of a crime".
At this stage of the investigation, the two youths are also suspected of not having left the scene immediately after the arrival of the firefighters as they claim. There are several indications that they may have contributed to altering the crime scene. The ongoing investigations must also clarify whether or not the weapons that led to the tragedy were legally owned by its owner.
