Munich – It is the second concert that takes place after the emergence of the allegations against Rammstein singer Till Lindemann. On Wednesday (June 8, 2023), Rammstein will perform at Munich's Olympic Stadium. The concert a day earlier – also in the Olympic Stadium – was already accompanied by protests against Lindemann.

Second Rammstein concert in the Olympic Stadium: Another demonstration against Till Lindemann expected

As part of the second Munich Rammstein concert, renewed protests against Rammstein singer Till Lindemann were announced. The basis is allegations that several women had made against the 60-year-old in recent days. An organiser of the demonstration, which took place on Wednesday (7 June), spoke to the editors of tz.de about what happened on the ground.

"Fans walked past us en masse and, despite the police presence, showed the middle finger or shouted 'shut up', for example," said demonstrator Jennifer Schröder about the events at the Olympic Stadium. Police forces had provided protection for the Protestants. Nevertheless, the opposing side of the demonstration is said to have found ways to evade police measures. "In some cases, however, they just came back to the back." According to Schroeder, "bottles were thrown in the direction of the demonstrators."

Protests against Rammstein singer Lindemann: Demo participant expects "massive hostility"

As a result of the confrontation with Rammstein fans, she and the other demonstrators were met with insulting and sexist statements. Jennifer Schröder would have noticed sentences like "let yourself be photographed, darling" or "nobody wants to you anyway". For the activist, the experiences on the ground were "shocking". In an interview with tz.de, she calls for "people to be sensitized to the issue."

Luca Barakat finds similar words to tz.de. He is one of at least 50 demonstrators who, according to Barakat, also want to protest against Lindemann on June 8. The aim is to "clarify the allegations against Lindemann" and to "create the possibility for each person to form an opinion on the subject". Even in the run-up to the demonstration, Barakat had expected "massive hostility".

When asked by tz.de, a spokeswoman said that the Munich police currently have no reports of "special incidents". It is said that the atmosphere in the run-up to the Rammstein concert on June 7 would have been usual for an event of this magnitude.

Before the first concert, demonstrators and fans of the band clashed. The background to this are allegations that several women - some of them anonymous - had recently raised against frontman Till Lindemann. Before the second concert in Munich, the band Rammstein now lets their lawyers speak for themselves. For days, lead singer Till Lindemann has been confronted with serious allegations of abuse of several women.
The allegations were "invariably untrue," according to a statement from the lawyers. Legal action is now being taken against individuals who claim to have been placed under narcotics by Lindemann and thus made compliant. The reporting of many media will also be examined and, if necessary, legal action will be taken against it.
