For his birthday, a man from Bavaria received a letter from Prime Minister Söder. But he is not alone in this.
Neu-Ulm - A young man from Bavaria was amazed when he opened the mailbox shortly after his 18th birthday and discovered mail from none other than Prime Minister Markus Söder.
On Reddit, he posted a photo of the letter congratulating him on coming of age. "Happy 18th birthday," it reads, and continues: "You live in the Free State of Bavaria - it's a great state. As your Prime Minister, I want to help ensure that your chances of getting off to a good start in life." The letter is signed with the more or less legible initials of Markus Söder.

Also, the letterhead suggests that it is not a fake. In addition to the Bavarian coat of arms, Markus Söder's name can be found here, including the title. Whether it is a real letter or a fake cannot be conclusively verified, but there is nothing to indicate a fake.
Below the photo are numerous responses from Reddit users. "The content of the letter has remained unchanged, got the same one 2 years ago," comments one user, another frowns: "Still nice to catch votes, the good man." A commentator agrees, assuming: "Is Maggus trying to attract new voters?" One user is even a bit jealous and thinks: "But I still think it's cool that you get a letter like that. A little attention. Somehow, that would catch me."

Bavarian Prime Minister Germany's most diligent well-wisher?
Anyone who thinks that the poster may be known or even related to the Söder family is probably mistaken. Because it's not just the 18-year-old on Reddit who gets congratulations from the prime minister. Markus Söder sends a whopping 1700 congratulations (as of 2022) to birthday children and wedding anniversaries every day - making him possibly Germany's most diligent well-wisher. More than three times as many such letters as the other 15 prime ministers go to his cap. However, this also costs quite a lot of money.
