A.: "He slammed me on the bed and started slamming my neck, all red" - Walla! Sheee

2023-06-08T12:42:31.937Z

Highlights: Irit Brenner recalls the sexual assault she suffered in her youth, and she had to keep her mouth shut for a check because there was nothing to do with it. She was interviewed only once, and also with shading and sound distortion. She is the one who actually signed on to the fact that the President of the State of Israel was sentenced to prison for a rape offense, so I knew some of the events in real time. One of her sentences stuck in my mind was, "In such situations, it's best not to come to work with pants with rubber on their waist alone"

Following Series A, Irit Brenner recalls the sexual assault she suffered in her youth, and she had to keep her mouth shut for a check because there was nothing to do with it

President Moshe Katsav at Sivan Cohen (Channel 13)

It began as a recommendation from companies, "Have you watched the series A Thousand About Rhythm yet?"

"It doesn't occur to me," I replied, because how much of a migration can already be brought up with this repulsive affair. Then the pressure:

"You have to!" so I watched two episodes and went to take a shower. Days passed, and on Channel 13 promos popped up announcing "being interviewed for the first time" Oh no! Once again he is.

And I watched like you watch a car accident, the head begging to 'fly away' and the masochistic need to keep going wins. I watched to the end the gruesome performance of a whining man who implied that it all happened because he threatened other politicians with his Churchillian greatness.

It turned out that my friend A.P. is A.'s best friend from the Ministry of Tourism, the same A. whose name most of the public does not know. She was interviewed only once, and also with shading and sound distortion. And she is the one who actually signed on to the fact that the President of the State of Israel was sentenced to prison for a rape offense, so I knew some of the events in real time. One of her sentences stuck in my mind was, "In such situations, it's best not to come to work with pants with rubber on their waist." Imagine alone.

My friend A.P. even received permission from the State Attorney's Office to accompany A. during the traumatic testimony in court, so that even at the height of the affair, I had endless conversations with her on the phone, one of which was the broadcast in which Katsav chooses to give up the dream deal his lawyer offers him, which I remember as an incomprehensible show + screaming on the phone with my friends.

Ever since, from time to time when the subject comes up on social media, some generic man writes to me privately, "Yes, he's a maniac but not a rapist, just horny."

From the?

Tali Gottlieb, who became famous for providing legal relief to rapists, also said so, but in any case, the fruit of the blocking on social media is welcome.

Women go through all kinds of traumas, there is an index of traumas, there are those that are not on us, it takes years of treatments to survive life after them, and there are also those who are treated as follows: happened, happens - come on Hafif. It's just that even in these cases, for some reason, you remember years after every detail, like where it was, what you were wearing – even smells.

It was in my early twenties, I had my first job in an advertising agency and he was one of the firm's heaviest clients, the owner of a huge family business in real estate. And the company was about to market a unique project that had not existed in Israel until then. The same client asked my boss to lend me, the successful one at my job, to advertise and market the project for a few months. A compliment, isn't it?

I started working with him. One Saturday morning the man called me and asked if I could pop over to the construction site where we would sit on papers for a while, because he didn't have time in the middle of the week. Of course, I replied, "Sure," and only my mother, who was smart, was upset - "How come on Shabbat? Maybe you'll set up with him in a café and not in this empty place."

Oh man, really.

When I arrived he seemed a little nervous, and I interpreted it as the mental state of a man running a grandiose real estate octopus - more than that - I felt really "important", that I was chosen to come while he was busy (oh the innocence)

and then he suggested "let's go into the bedroom (on the site there was one example apartment fully furnished), more comfortable there. We can lay out all the papers on the bed," and I didn't suspect anything yet, because after all, he's a respectable man – what about him and me?

It took about a second and a half for the man to bungee jump on me, slam me onto the bed and start rubbing my neck, all red, panting and sweating. There was a longitudinal mirror on the side, and like in a slow motion movie, I watched in real time as I was attacked. Humans react differently to each situation. A lot of freezes in this situation, but I started a fit of catatonic laughter, really screaming - because it seemed funny to me when I looked in the mirror from the side.

By the way, this is not advice, but such a laugh probably swords into the hand of maniacs. He was in shock. I pushed him away and infantile threatened him: "Are you crazy? I'll tell your wife!" I picked myself up and ran away. When I got home I called my girlfriend, we both laughed. And that's it. That's where it ends.

On Sunday, when I arrived, the CEO called me and shamefully told me that I was fired from the project because there was no need. I was deeply offended and immediately called R.'s partner, who immediately arranged with me, listened attentively, took out a checkbook and wrote me a respectable sum there. I thought I was an assertive exemplary example of young women who stand their ground, but what I didn't realize was that this action was part of the company's conduct, and all this could have happened because there was no law yet, or in other words, there was nothing to do with "it."

A law was created to instill a norm of do's and don'ts, but when it comes to human beings and behavioral subtleties it can get complicated, because the human instinct, the power, the "I deserve" and the feeling that they are above the law produces affairs like rhythm. Fortunately for young women, they live in a time when the law is on their side, and thank God their time for writing checks to keep their mouths shut is up. Now there is something to do with "it". So do it.
