A fire broke out Thursday night in a home in the village of Rihaniya in the Upper Galilee, where a policeman and his family live. The police, who were called to the scene, opened a joint investigation with the Shin Bet. There were no casualties in the incident, but the building sustained extensive damage.
Security camera footage at the entrance to Rihaniya shows two unknown assailants entering the village at around 02:30 A.M., their faces covered and holding bottles.

"At 02:44 A.M., we received the report of a house fire in the community of Rihaniya in Merom HaGalil. Five fire crews and a crane from the Galilee-Golan station rushed to the scene," the Israel Fire and Rescue Service said. "When they arrived at the scene, firefighters identified a certain fire in a two-story residence. In quick actions, the fighters began extinguishing the building, searching for those trapped, cutting off energy sources and ventilating the large amount of smoke that had accumulated."
The Fire and Rescue Service also said that the circumstances of the incident would be investigated by a fire investigator.
The police said: "During the night, a report was received about a fire in the residence of a policeman in the village of Rihaniya. Upon receiving the report, the officers were dispatched to the scene and noticed a residential building on fire, while evidence was collected and an investigation was opened together with the Israel Security Agency on suspicion of arson."
