A traffic accident with a total of six people, some seriously injured, occurred on Wednesday morning (7 June) near Farchant. The route was closed for a short time.
According to the police report, the accident occurred around 11:45 a.m. The 49-year-old woman who caused the accident was driving her Skoda from Oberau on the federal highway 2. In the car were a 78-year-old and an 83-year-old. The woman, who comes from Farchant, wanted to turn left onto the main road at the end of the exit and apparently overlooked the BMW of a 24-year-old Garmisch-Partenkirchner approaching from Farchant and with right of way. This could no longer prevent a head-on collision and rammed the Skoda almost unbraked.
The young man and his two passengers, a seven-year-old and a one-year-old child, were slightly injured. The person who caused the accident and her two co-occupants also suffered injuries, in the case of the 78-year-old severe in the chest and abdomen area. All those involved in the accident were taken to the surrounding hospitals.
The vehicles were totaled. In total, this is estimated at 20,000 euros. The road had to be closed for a short time. Forces from the police, fire brigade, ambulance service and road maintenance department were in action.
