Karlsfeld dog owners have waited a long time to be able to let their pet run and romp without a leash. This is now possible: on a fenced meadow on the elevated road.
Karlsfeld – Long awaited and now it's here: the dog open space in Karlsfeld. Dog owners repeatedly asked the Karlsfeld administration for a dog meadow, but for a long time no suitable area could be found. After the topic was discussed more intensively again at the end of last year, the new environmental officer Stefan Grimm has taken up the matter. The search for land started again. In the end, he came across the meadow in Hochstraße. Here, dogs can now run, romp and play without leashes on 2,574 square meters.
Together with the public order office, the environmental department has checked the safety requirements. Approval was obtained in the main committee, the building yard prepared the meadow, the signs were ordered and attached. In addition to two entrances, the dog open area has also been given a dog toilet. This dog meadow will be included in the municipality's green space statutes in the next meetings.
According to the municipality, the rapid increase in the number of fellow citizens has also increased the number of people seeking recreation – and with it the number of dog owners. Due to the enormous settlement pressure in the entire Munich catchment area, the leisure and recreational areas in the municipal area are also used by many citizens from the surrounding area. Especially in summer, the ban on dogs at Lake Karlsfeld puts pressure on other outdoor open spaces particularly high. In order to avoid conflict situations between dog owners and other recreation seekers, a dog open area with a dog playground therefore makes sense, according to the municipality.
The administration now wishes you a lot of fun in the use of this open space for dogs and asks all dog owners to be considerate of each other and to comply with the applicable rules. For example, dog owners have to remove contaminants themselves.
The opening hours of the dog meadow are daily from 8 a.m. to 13 p.m. and from 15 p.m. to 20 p.m. Dn
