A man wounded with a knife a social worker involved in the case of placement of his child this Thursday, June 8 in Brive, Corrèze, announced the authorities, who evoke a victim "in a state of shock" but news "reassuring".
According to the prosecutor's office, the 30-year-old social worker from the foster care service was hit several times by a homemade weapon that could be associated with "a spear" as she began her working day. "The victim suffers from five wounds, two of which are significant in the head, requiring the installation of 12 and 13 stitches. The victim is in a state of shock," said Emilie Abrantes, public prosecutor in Brive.
Investigation for "attempted homicide"
The facts occurred in the early morning in the premises of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), which houses those of child welfare, dependent on the departmental council. "The aggressor pursued his victim from the parking lot to the premises of the CCI," said the prosecutor. The victim, 30 years old, was transported to the Brive hospital. "The news about her physical health is reassuring and we express our full support to this young woman," Pascal Coste, president of the Corrèze departmental council, said in a statement.

The suspect, a thirty-year-old who is not known to the justice, was placed in custody at the Brive police station.
