Masses of people are taking part in the Tel Aviv Gay Pride Parade on Thursday. The parade began in the Gordon Beach area, from where crowds of LGBT people, supporters and tourists march up to Charles Clore Park. Eight trucks of gay organizations and lines of pride parties take part in the parade.

Daniel and Gilad, a couple from Petah Tikva and Herzliya, aged 18 and 20, arrived together. "From year to year, the parade becomes more relevant, especially in recent times, which greatly threaten the lives and rights of members of the gay community. We must succeed in maintaining equality," they told Walla!. "The purpose of the march is to raise awareness that the community still does not have equal rights for everyone. And in dark times like these, it's also a great opportunity for people outside the community to show support – and tend to pick up. This is our holiday," they added.

Another marching bloc is that of the Lionesses Alliance, relatives of trans children. "We deal on a daily basis with statements that come out against trans people. Our children are neither a trend nor a contagious disease. We want to raise our children quietly and grant them full rights," said the organization's executive director, Merav Livni Kish.

This year's anti-government protest is present at the parade in signs and designated blocks, such as that of the high-tech protest. A member of the Lioness Alliance distributes stickers to passersby that read, "There is no pride without democracy." "We go out every Saturday with the gay bloc to protest because part of the goal of the coup is to harm the rights of trans people," she explained to Benny Kish

The parade is guarded by hundreds of police officers, who have been deployed since morning along the route of the march and in the surrounding streets. The police do not allow vehicles to park along the route of the procession, and will not allow weapons into the compounds. Flying drones in the compound is prohibited without obtaining prior approval. MDA also prepared for the event, with intensive care vehicles, ambulances, motorcycles, ATVs and medical personnel along the route.
