Dilemma K: Daniel Scioli refuses to negotiate to get off and Alberto Fernández warned that he 'does not control it'

Almost traced, the scene was repeated several times in recent days: a leader asks Alberto Fernández about the pre-candidacy for president of Daniel Scioli and hears that he can no longer "do anything." Neither for nor against. "It depends only on him, I do not control him," he replies when explaining why he does not intercede so that the ambassador in Brazil opens up to a negotiation and declines his candidacy. "They have to talk to him," he adds.

Although Alberto F. and Sergio Massa strive to repeat that at Wednesday's meeting they did not talk about politics and, consequently, neither about the pressure of the Renewal Front for the Tigrean to head a unity list, versions were fired that realized that the president had ratified his position that there is competition in the PASO and that the economy minister urged him to help him "order" the internal.

"Since he got off (the reelection) Alberto (Fernández) does not control Daniel (Scioli), he cannot ask him to get off and Kirchnerism knows it. It is nonsense that they ask for that," they point out from the president's environment, despite the fact that there are several points of connection between the two: from the pre-candidate for governor Victoria Tolosa Paz, to Foreign Minister Santiago Cafiero, who is part of the campaign table, and the Minister of Security, Anibal Fernandez, brand new electoral proxy, were three unconditional Fernandistas and fervent promoters of his re-election attempt.

It also fuels speculation that, after getting off, Fernández asked several times in public that the differences be settled in a PASO.

In any case, that close to him they whitewash that "it does not depend on him", implies a symbol of the weakness of the president. From the Frente Renovador they do not believe that this is the case. And they point out that it is corroborated in the media "irons" and the financing of the campaign of the former motonaut and the communicational support of the publicist Enrique "Pepe" Albistur, Tolosa Paz's partner but at the same time intimate of the President.

Movements to go down to Scioli

In recent days, following the return from China of Massa and La Cámpora boss Maximo Kirchner, there have been several attempts to push Scioli down. Some political movements, such as this Wednesday's postcard of the PJ governors in the CFI; and other more subtle: for example, the dissemination of alleged negotiations and offers of distribution of positions that, according to the ranks of the former Buenos Aires governor, "never existed."

"They seek to disarm us. There is not and there was no offer, but we are not open to negotiation, unless you are offered to lead him. Daniel is going to be a pre-candidate even if Cristina calls him, let the people define it," they add.

Complaint against governors

Beyond the sayings, from the Sciolista bunker, located in Balcarce and Alsina, 200 meters from the Casa Rosada, the concrete response they gave to the move of the governors and mayors of the Buenos Aires Conurbano to claim a single list, was categorical: "We are going to present candidates in all categories, even in the province."

The 13 PJ governors who met at the CFI demanded a consensus candidate in the Frente de Todos.

As this newspaper reported, Scioli had already assimilated Maximo Kirchner's demand to force all candidates to present lists in all districts. But his idea was to avoid challenging the governors and he took care to call several of them to ask them not to join the K blockade.

He assumed that having split the local elections (Buenos Aires, Catamarca, Entre Ríos and Santa Cruz, the exceptions), they would not want to be involved in a confrontation.

In spite of everything, in the Sciolista bunker they are not discouraged and interpret that the Chaco Jorge Capitanich, who officiated as spokesman for the summit, made a nod to competition.

What did he say? "It is clear that the majority of governors want a single list, but it is true that no one's right to participate can be curtailed, so the most sensible thing is that, if the unity list is not achieved, there are no more than two lists."
