This is one of the extensions of "Qatargate", this corruption scandal that caught up, in December 2022, members and former members of the European Parliament, suspected of having received large sums of money from Morocco and Qatar, in return for decisions favorable to these two countries. The EU will have an ethics body common to all its institutions. That is nine in total, or even ten if the European Investment Bank, which is not considered an institution in the Treaties, also takes the plunge.
