Are our leaders too slow or too quick? Faced with an event that plunges the nation into a state of shock, as Emmanuel Macron pointed out, political reaction is decidedly a delicate art. And inevitably subject to criticism. Reacting quickly but sticking to displaying emotion and general considerations can feel like denial. As when the Secretary of State for Children, Charlotte Caubel, deplores that children are "the target of the increase in violence in our society". Conversely, to oppose immediately, as Guillaume Peltier did (Reconquest!), the "cowardice" of a minute of silence to the need to fight against "conquering Islamism" is a hasty and abusive recovery. There are other forms of misplaced instrumentalization. As when the president of the Renaissance group, Aurore Bergé, takes the opportunity to point out the contrast between this attack and the "battle of ragpickers on the admissibility of the amendments" on the Liot bill...
