A 58-year-old man killed his neighbour and wounded three others before taking his own life in La Souterraine (Creuse). The facts date back to Monday, June 5. In the afternoon, the respondent attacked several people living in his building with knives and a crossbow, before turning the weapon on him and seriously injuring himself. His prognosis was therefore engaged. He died the next day while he had just been treated in a hospital in Limoges.
During the attack, a 53-year-old man lost his life, succumbing to several stab wounds. Three people were injured and taken to hospital. According to the Guéret prosecutor's office, "the hypothesis of a neighborhood dispute" is privileged. According to France 3, which quotes a witness interviewed at the scene of the tragedy, the suspect is a former legionnaire recently installed in the building. In particular, he would have complained in the past about noises caused by a dog in the neighborhood. According to the Guéret prosecutor's office, he was not known to the judicial authority.
After attacking his neighbors, the man himself called the gendarmes to denounce himself, before turning his crossbow against him. The Guéret prosecutor's office told Le Figaro that autopsies will be performed this Friday on the body of the victim and the accused. An investigation is still ongoing for "murder" and "attempted murder".
