It was to be a completely classic rental eviction for which the police force of the Enghien police station was hired. The scene takes place in the sensitive city of Greyhounds, in Montmagny, on June 1st. The police enter the apartment and discover the presence of two women and a man in three different rooms.
The man was sleeping in a room where Enghien officials quickly spotted a cabinet without a door that let out a very strong smell of cannabis. Inside were packaging bags, a precision scale and wads of banknotes. All signs of a probable drug trafficking that revolves around the apartment.
The three people were immediately taken into custody by the police who handed them over to the investigators of the narcotic group of the urban security of Enghien, seized of the investigation.
Two years in prison
The search of the home, conducted with the assistance of a stup dog from the departmental canine brigade, led to the discovery of two handguns (a Magnum with 3 cartridges and a Colt 1911, 9 mm, with a cartridge), three plates of cannabis resin weighing in total around 30 g, a pillow of cannabis herb of 616 g and the sum of 10,470 euros in cash.
At the end of police custody, the main suspect in this cannabis trafficking was brought before the criminal court as part of an immediate appearance procedure on the instruction of the prosecutor. On June 5, the man was sentenced to two years in prison and was incarcerated in the Val-d'Oise prison, the court having issued a warrant of committal.
