Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke by phone Thursday evening with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken. In their conversation, Netanyahu stressed to Blinken that "a return to the nuclear agreement with Iran will not stop the Iranian nuclear program" and that "no agreement with Iran will obligate Israel to do everything to defend itself."
The conversation between Blinken and Netanyahu takes place at the end of the US secretary of state's visit to Saudi Arabia, and against the backdrop of Blinken's talks with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on normalization with Israel.
The Prime Minister's Office said the two also discussed "the challenges and opportunities in the region." The prime minister said he expressed his appreciation to Blinken for "the recent frank talks in Washington between the teams of the two countries and the close coordination between Israel and the United States."
