Is the page on pensions definitively turned? This is the idea that the government has been trying to introduce for several weeks, and which now seems to infuse the population. According to our latest Odoxa Backbone consulting survey conducted for Le Figaro, 92% of French people are convinced that the reform will be applied in any way. Liot's attempt to repeal the text also failed by falling under the financial inadmissibility established by Article 40 of the Constitution. And the first two implementing decrees were published on 4 June in the Official Journal.

In the absence of any prospect of social victory, it is therefore not surprising that support for the mobilization is weakening, two days after another day of demonstrations marked by a sharply declining participation rate. This support is still in the majority (61%), but has lost four points since the last meeting on 27th April and ten points in four months. Public opinion even believes that the movement is coming to an end (59%), or that it will become "very marginal". "Until now, the French had always believed, not only that the movement would 'hold' but even that it would harden," recalls Céline Bracq, CEO of Odoxa.

The popularity of the executive up slightly

As the sequence comes to an end, it is also time to take stock. And this one is not good. According to the French, no actor really wins. Even union leaders, who remain more appreciated than the executive, garner a majority of bad opinions. This is evidenced by the situation of the leader of the CFDT, Laurent Berger, who has lost 16 points of good opinion since March (42%).

The leader of the Insoumise Jean-Luc Mélenchon does not come out rewarded either, he who has nevertheless tried to position himself as the main opponent. He recorded only 24% of good opinions, a few points behind the president of the Republicans, Eric Ciotti (18%), whose party was distinguished by its divisions. This is even less than Emmanuel Macron and Elisabeth Borne, who benefit from their side of a timid rise (27%; +4 points and +2 points).

The only political figure to emerge from this sequence, Marine Le Pen remains at a higher level than that of her opponents (36%). His troops were often criticized for their discretion in the hemicycle but were also able to take advantage of the contrast caused by particularly virulent Insoumises.
