After nearly a decade living in the house, the couple decided they wanted to embark on a focused renovation process that would combine the renovations and small upgrades carried out so far with the new design. For the renovation process, which lasted two months, the family found alternative accommodation, and for the renovation, interior designer Hila Brower was chosen, who tells about the process.

Public space

At the beginning of the process, a clear color scale of gray, black, wood, and natural shades was chosen to which the couple connected, with touches of bluish and yellow tones that add interest and a twist.

In a public space, it was decided to transform the entire seating form, thus creating one large, spacious and pleasant space in the center of which stands a custom designed carpentry unit for the TV, additional storage and even parking for the robot. The old-fashioned sofas that were in the house were replaced with a spacious chaise lounge sofa in a blue shade that gives castor to the neutral colors in the rest of the space.

The guest toilet that was at the entrance and used by the family as a storage room was eliminated, and instead the space was enlarged to the dining area, allowing the family to conveniently open and use the dining area even while entertaining.

The carpentry unit received a two-sided treatment, so that a grooved façade was incorporated from its rear side and was an excellent solution to the family's need to create a partial partition between the two spaces (living room and dining area).

For the whole house, SPC parquet was chosen that will be practical and comfortable in terms of maintenance and cleanliness, especially because of the animals. We will choose a model that looks as real as possible and combines several shades. The parquet blends perfectly with the existing furniture tones that have not been replaced, but also with the new furniture, it in itself gave an excellent stage to all the design and warmth. The parquet continued to all the spaces of the house and thus constituted an essential part of creating harmony and continuity between all the spaces.

After years of living in an apartment with standard bathrooms from the contractor, damp problems and incompatibility with the changing needs of the household members, it was decided to renovate the 2 bathrooms from the ground up.

The general bathroom, which is used mainly by the children, was enlarged by the adjacent utility room. The bath was eliminated and in its place a spacious shower stall with a niche for soaps was designed.

The entire space was designed with a custom carpentry shell that included service storage, washing machine storage, dryer, vacuum cleaner, laundry drawers, detergents and more. The goal was to adapt the bathroom to the lifestyle of the house, so that it would be comfortable and easy to maintain order.

The color scale also accompanied the design of this space. For the flooring, terrazzo-like tiles 60x120 cm were chosen from Topaz Ceramics, which combine gray and blue tones with deep blue tiles, we wanted to create a room that gives a good and fresh feeling but also temporary that will provide a solution for years ahead and will not get tired.

The parents' bathroom is relatively small, so we wanted to maximize its use in the best way possible. For this purpose, the front door was changed to a sliding pocket door in order to give the room a more spacious and comfortable look. We kept the same flooring chosen for the general bathroom, but this time we combined blue gray tiles with a niche for Corian soaps – the repetition between the two bathrooms gave continuity, but on the other hand, the use of different shades of tiles in the shower stall area gave a different and unique feeling to each of them, here too everything from the makers of "Topaz Ceramics".

The sink cabinet was designed with a continuous surface that allows for a comfortable and functional work surface - thus increasing the amount of storage as well.

In the bedrooms and children's room - custom carpentry units were also designed that combine the design style and colors we chose for the house and bring them into spaces that supposedly have not been completely changed.
