This is a small revolution for French motorists. In the coming weeks, BP petrol stations will soon disappear from the motorways to make way for Esso. Until now, BP, which relaxed 300 outlets in France, was bound by a contract with Euro Garages. The latter ended, the management company had then launched a call for applications a few weeks ago to take over the entire network. Consequence: 200 stations will pass under the flag of the subsidiary of Exxon-Mobil, according to information from Les Echos. With this future takeover, the market share of the British oil company will double from 4 to 8%.

Our commercial presence continues to expand on the French fuel market, while allowing us to secure volumes for our refineries, "said Charles Amyot,CEO of Esso SAF. If the stations that will be taken over are largely located in the Paris region and in the South-East, it is not impossible that some close so as not to block the French market too much. In the end, Esso should manage about 800 stations compared to 550 today.
