At Eshel prison in Be'er Sheva, riots broke out Thursday evening. A riot broke out, during which dozens of criminal prisoners serving their sentences poured oil on the prison floor and refused the guards' orders.
Following the incidents, prison guards and fighters from the special units of the Israel Prison Service broke into the wings and removed prisoners from them in order to disperse the centers of power. The IPS said that the 17 prisoners removed from the wings, former Soviet Union, were sentenced to solitary confinement and that "the IPS will not allow disturbances of public order and discipline in its facilities."
