"Last Generation" disrupts Porsche show with oil – suit wearers against activists

The campaign against the super-rich is ongoing. Activists of the "Last Generation" make their announcement come true. Oil attack on a Porsche show in Stuttgart.

Stuttgart – "Your decadence – the ruin of all of us," reads the protesters' signs. The "Last Generation" is targeting the super-rich. The group announced this at the end of May, and in the meantime more and more actions are taking place against high earners. On Wednesday (9 June), activists disrupted the opening of Porsche's anniversary show "Driven by Dreams" in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen.

The climate activists blocked the access road for guests in the evening. But: That didn't quite work out, a police spokesman said. The protest apparently came too late. Around 20:15 p.m., the blockade action is said to have begun, but by then most of the participants had already been on the site.

But at least one turbulent scene did occur. An activist and an activist had laid down in the driveway to a parking garage and a man in a suit tried to get them off the street. A video of it was shared by the "Last Generation" on Twitter.

"Hey, you're hurting me," the activist shouts as the man pulls on her arm. "But, if you have to do the shit here," he replies. And at the same time tries to grab the activist. Apparently, the man wearing the suit is a member of the security service and wants to take the superglue away from the protesters before they can attach themselves to the street.

The male activist writhes on the ground, trying to escape the grip of the security guard. A second suit wearer ends the short wrestling match. He takes a small tube.

But that was not the end of the protest. Later in the evening, the "Last Generation" took oil action against the Porsche event. "Vegetable oil from ten-liter canisters was poured over a large area onto the roadway of the vehicle show in front of the Porsche plant," the group reports in a press release. As a result, she delayed the start of the show. Four activists are said to have overcome the security cordon and were later arrested by the police.

Since the raid, the "Last Generation" has been on a new course. Fewer road blockades in normal traffic, but more protest marches and targeted actions. (moe)
