To your bikes! The cycling section of the Vélo Club de Montigny-le-Bretonneux (VCMB) is organizing two hikes this Saturday to explore the Yvelines, its heritage and its green countryside. And there is something for everyone with distances and routes designed for both neophytes and athletes.
Gravel, mountain bike or cyclocross enthusiasts will instead opt for the "Montigravel" hike to ride on courses composed of 70% accessible trails and 30% small asphalt roads in the forest of Rambouillet and the Eure Valley. For this, three non-signposted routes are proposed of 60 km, 100 km or 200 km with elevations of 490 m, 650 m and 1,550 m.
The second is a road hike that allows you to take the only pass in Île-de-France, "the Col du Manet" (170 m), before crisscrossing the mythical Côte des 17 Tournants in the Chevreuse Valley. Similarly, several loops are proposed of 100 km, 150 km and 200 km with departures from 6:30 am and 7:30 am.
A scenic route
Leaving Montigny-le-Bretonneux, the participants of this 19th "Monticyclo" will join the forest massif of Rambouillet, travel small roads that will lead them to picturesque villages. And passed by renowned historical sites such as the domain of Dampierre, the abbey of Vaux-de-Cernay or the medieval ruins of Montfort-l'Amaury. But also, on the Eure-et-Loir side, the castles of Maintenon and Anet as well as the ruins of Gallardon.

Refreshments, snacks and entertainment are also on the program of this festive day.
