Highlights: Last year's PULS festival at Kaltenberg Castle in Germany was canceled after just one day. Organizer Bayerischer Rundfunk has teamed up with proven security service. Up to 12,000 visitors will experience the festival on the castle grounds. 45 bands, solo artists and DJs on seven stages will feature on Saturday night. The considerably enlarged tent and camper site was fully booked shortly after the start of advance sales. For last-minute visitors, there are day tickets for Friday and Saturday for 69 euros.

Kaltenberg – Those who were believed dead live longer. After the inglorious cancellation last year, there were many doubts as to whether the PULS open-air festival at Kaltenberg Castle could ever take place again. But the rebirth under new management and an optimized concept seems to have been more than successful, as the opening day already showed. Even a few raindrops in the evening did not dampen the mood.

As reported, last year's festival came to an abrupt end after just one day. The visitors had to leave the site in a hurry. For security reasons, because the new security service hired by the organizer Amont-Gastro GmbH could not provide enough forces. The Amont-Gastro from Chieming was thus out of the game.

Bayerischer Rundfunk, as PULS's namesake and programmer of the music festival, pulled the ripcord and teamed up with the proven "Ritterturnier Kaltenberg Veranstaltungs GmbH". Their security service has been reliably looking after the huge area for years at the knights' games and various other events, as press officer Markus Wiegand praised it.

Last year's PULS fans, who were affected by the cancellation and have not yet been reimbursed for their money, were compensated by Bayerischer Rundfunk with free tickets "in gratitude for their patience and loyalty" – regardless of their claims for compensation against Amont-Gastro GmbH. According to PULS project manager Andy Barsekow, several thousand visitors took up the offer.

The program up to and including open-end Saturday night will feature 45 bands, solo artists and DJs on seven stages. These include well-known acts such as Kaffkiez, Domiziana, Il Civetto, My Ugly Clementine, Nina Chuba, Blumengarten and Clockclock. Markus Wiegand, press officer of the organizer: "We have enlarged the site and restructured the stage layout. In between, places to celebrate and adventure islands were placed as chill zones." And instead of the unpopular cashless system for paying via a pre-charged chip, cash is once again valid on the premises for gastronomy or merchandising.

Up to 12,000 visitors will experience the festival on the castle grounds, with the considerably enlarged tent and camper site being fully booked shortly after the start of advance sales. For last-minute visitors, there are day tickets for Friday and Saturday for 69 euros.

Sustainability is a top priority at this year's PULS Festival. There are no more disposable cups, 85 percent of the catering offer is vegan-vegetarian, the green electricity comes from the solar park on site and the waste on the campsite is separated.
