The Kohllaine between the "Eschgrund" and the Wolf estate will be completely expanded: This was unanimously decided by the Schlehdorf municipal council at its most recent meeting. Cost: one million euros.
Schlehdorf - On normal days, the Kohllaine is a small, calmly flowing stream that flows into Lake Kochel between Schlehdorf and the district of Raut. However, if it rains very heavily, the stream can turn into an avalanche of water with a flow rate of 19.7 cubic meters per second, reported Mayor Stefan Jocher. However, the previous stream bed could only absorb three cubic meters of water per second.
Municipality proposes flood trough: Office advises against
In recent weeks, as reported, four expansion variants had been discussed. The municipality brought up the construction of a flood trough. If the worst comes to the worst, this hollow could fill up with water and thus protect the houses. The construction costs would be comparatively low at around 400,000 euros. "However, the water management office advised us not to pursue this variant," reported Jocher. According to the experts, an enormous amount of water and a high flow velocity of four meters per second can be expected in the event of a flood of the century. The experts expect a water height of up to 1.20 meters. The road to Raut could not withstand this pressure, warned the head of the town hall: "We would then have to rebuild it partially or completely."

Complete expansion is the most expensive option, but also the most sensible
At a meeting, he explained the facts to the residents. All those involved had come to the conclusion that a complete expansion of the Kohllaine at a cost of one million euros was the most expensive, but at the same time the most sensible option. The course of the stream bed would remain largely unchanged, only the curves would be "somewhat defused" so that the water can drain off quickly. However, this variant is not entirely unproblematic from a nature conservation point of view. The bottom of the future four-metre-wide stream bed is to remain open so that the fish do not lose their habitat. In the future, the upper part of the stream bed will be eight meters wide.
Planning will start shortly
The two other variants were no longer discussed: on the one hand, the 400,000 euro "minimal version", which includes the construction of a "guide dike" and the raising of Schleißheimer Straße; on the other hand, the construction of a "bypass channel", which would probably cost 900,000 euros.
Planning for the complete expansion will soon begin, said Jocher: "That will take long enough, I could imagine."
