There is more talk about the two years that Juana Molina made humor than about more than half a century ofGabriela Acher's career. What will he have done to deserve such indifference? Hector Alterio returned at the age of 93 and the world stopped. Luis Brandoni walks very orondo his 83 years on TV and also leads a theatrical success.

Gabriela Acher, attentive to this fact, is one of the first female comedians that this country had and even today, at 78 years old, the Uruguayan acts and does so with a power that leads us to think that the data of her birth in Wikipedia, is incorrect.

There is talk of the "miracle" Mirtha Legrand, but nothing is said about Gabriela, absolute pioneer of stand up from Rio de la Plata, who now fills the room again with What does a girl like me do at an age like this? (Sundays at 19 at the Piccadilly Theater).

"Why are you so splendid?"

-Because I swim a lot. I like to swim. I have swum in all the seas of the world.

-Which one was best for you?

-The Persian Gulf is a green sea that you die of divinura. I like swimming in La Mansa, Punta del Este. It's like going to a pool with ocean water. I was in the Adriatic, in the Aegean, which was cold cold. I swam in the Mediterranean... My miracle is my life. I take care of myself a lot, too much. I take care of myself like crazy. I just drink water. To have a good old age you have to have a shitty life.

-Hahahahaha.

"And yes, but I prefer a good old age. Be agile, lucid, keep working.

Massive? What is that?

-Many years living on humor outside the mass media...

-Many, yes. Since '91, when I left Let's Make Humor. It was the first time I had my own show on TV, but I wasn't happy. My hair was falling out, my son was small, I spent 14 hours away from home...

At that time he made Doctor Diu, a kind of avenger of women, a character undoubtedly ahead of the time. Many did not understand what I wanted to do, but I am not complaining, not now: it is the price we pay in advance. A disruptive, feminist humor...

-But feminism does not have you very referenced. Or am I wrong?

-It looks like not so much (smiles a little). Are you thinking that I lack recognition?

Women in humor

-Let's do the exercise: how many women before you dedicated themselves to humor in this country? Do we agree on Niní Marshall?

- Yes, absolutely.

-Then came the coffee concert with Edda Díaz?

-Yes, but Edda wrote her own texts?

"Mmm, I don't know.

-Humorist is a person who writes his own texts.

- That's the definition.

That's my definition of a humorist, yes. If not, you're a comedy actress. I'm a humorist. I have five books written and five one-man books of my own.

-Can you learn to be a humorist?

-I learned it.

- Can anyone be? Could Martha Argerich be a comedian?

-What it can tell you is that you learn. I was fortunate to enter, being very inexperienced and very young, in Telecataplúm, the mythical television program of Uruguay. Year '63, '64. I was an ordinary fan and Diosito remembered me and I entered the program.

-I don't understand. Did you go from fan to cast? Like you broke the fourth wall, but the other way around...

-At that time there was live advertising. I showed up at an agency and said, "All the announcers they have are horrible and I'm better." They took me and Eduardo D'Angelo saw me and told me that in Telecataplúm they were looking for a young girl who dances, sings and acts. Then I met the producers, who were also wonderful writers: Jorge and Daniel Scheck.

I recited his work to them, I knew it by heart. I loved their work and you can see that they saw the link I had with humor. They realized the potential of such a young and inexperienced girl. They saw my future and trusted. They understood everything I was going to give later.

Vedette, a possibility

-You were very cute, attractive. Did you ever come across a Sofovich to be a vedette or something like that?

-Yes, that possibility circulated, but I went elsewhere and I thank you for that to my desire to want to write. Writing extended my career until today. I set up my own kiosk, and thanks to my own texts I don't need to be waiting for them to call me from some strip to play grandma.

Did you do well with men?

-I liked them much more than I liked them. That didn't work for me. The fact that boys liked me did not make me more confident, but more distrustful of them.

-Tell me when you joined the group of "the Uruguayans": Almada, Espalter, Berugo, D'Angelo...

-When I walked in, there was already Henny Trayles. She didn't like it at all. Jealousy, that I appeared out of nowhere being younger, prettier... Then it happened to us and we were very close friends.

-And with men?

-All good until I started writing. They didn't like that one bit. I was with them in three cycles: Telecataplúm, Comicolor and Hupumorpo. Chochi la Dicharachera believes, that to this day people ask me, and it is a character from 1982. My classmates wanted me as an actress, but not as an author. Then I left.

-Jealousy again?

-Jealousy, of course, machismo, what do I know... Even I wrote texts for them, which they never wanted to do.

-I mean: Henny came after Niní...

"Sorry, Henny was writing?"

-Are you a bit Gasalla or is Gasalla a bit you?

-Noooo, I'm a bit Gasalla. He is from before. I worked with him for two seasons. Extraordinary comic actor, the best comedian in the world. I learned a lot. A very demanding guy who was even in the hem of his pants.

-You also worked with Tato Bores...

When I was with Tato I told him: "You are a macho-Leninist."

-Hahaha.

-Yes, nice time... I guess they'll find out when I die.

About what?

"That it was Nini Marshall. They are going to compare me with the maximum.

-You have high self-esteem...

-I believe in what I do, yes.

-Do you consider yourself a capocomic?

-Yes.

-Capocomic without a crown?

-Yes.

-I tell you Juana Molina.

-Extraordinary. I do consider Juana a humorist.

-I tell you Carmen Barbieri.

-(Think seven seconds) Comedy actress.

- Malena Guinzburg?

"I don't know her well enough.

- Dalia Gutmann?

-Dalia I like. I find it very playful and fun. I don't know if she writes it, but I can consider her a humorist.

- Malena Pichot?

"I don't know her well enough.

-Are you going to retire?

"I plan to die with my boots on.
