PV systems in Bad Heilbrunn: "We are setting a precedent"

2023-06-09T15:12:23.109Z

Highlights: The Heilbrunn municipal council has now also dealt with the topic of balcony power plants. A catalogue of criteria is now to be drawn up here, which is intended to help with questions of what is permissible and what is not. "Things like this will come to us more and more often," expects Mayor Thomas Gründl. Only when the list of criteria has been determined will the committee decide on the construction of the plant in Reindlschmiede. The building applicant reported that he had originally wanted to install a 50-kilowatt peak system on his house.

Photovoltaic systems were recently discussed in the Heilbrunn municipal council. A catalogue of criteria is now to be drawn up here, which is intended to help with questions of what is permissible and what is not.

Bad Heilbrunn – The topic of photovoltaics and balcony power plants is currently occupying almost all municipal councils in the district. The people of Wackersberg recently agreed, the people of Lenggries rejected – and the Heilbrunn councillors want to issue a statute in the near future that regulates all questions relating to this topic in a binding manner. This was agreed by the building committee at its most recent meeting.

Councillor pleads for a uniform line: "Otherwise it will be wild"

This issue had become acute due to a Heilbrunn citizen who wants to install a photovoltaic system on his balcony in the Reindlschmiede district. "Things like this will come to us more and more often," expects Mayor Thomas Gründl. "We have to think about how we deal with the energy issue."

Florian Lettner spoke out in favour of drawing up a catalogue of criteria that regulates, for example, the question of elevation and colour: "It has to go in a uniform direction, otherwise it will be a wild story."

Solar panels along the entire length of the balcony

The building applicant reported that he had originally wanted to install a 50-kilowatt peak system on his house, but that the monument protection authority had only approved 39 kilowatt peak. The system is so powerful "that I can hardly get the electricity off during the day". From 16 p.m., however, electricity production drops to zero. In order to change this, he now wants to use the entire length of the west balcony. Attaching solar cells. "It's important to me that it looks clean and that there aren't individual plates hanging around." In addition to producing electricity in the evening, solar cells on the balcony also have the advantage that there is no snow on them in winter.

To stand up or not: that is the question

Gründl spoke out in favour of the fact that the plates should not be elevated. The local resident pointed out that the efficiency would be higher if the collectors were tilted by 15 degrees. In addition, he fears that a vertical alignment could blind motorists.

"We are setting a precedent," warned Bernd Rosenberger. He spoke out in favour of allowing the collectors to tilt, "because that makes sense in terms of efficiency, and you can hardly see it anyway". Anton Krinner agreed: "Such a system makes 1000 percent sense." But first he wants to take a look at a detailed sketch. "Because I'm sure there will be one or two people who say: It bothers me when I'm driving."

Gründl spoke out in favour of the Energy Commissioner and the Energy Committee dealing with the issue. Only when the list of criteria has been determined will the committee decide on the construction of the plant in Reindlschmiede.
