Additional details emerged from the conversation held Thursday night between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
According to the State Department's statement, the US official reprimanded the prime minister for breaking promises. "The secretary discussed the need to uphold the commitments made at the regional meetings in Aqaba and Sharm el-Sheikh to avoid measures that undermine the prospects for a two-state solution," the statement said.

The background to this is the Americans' claim that the renewal of Israeli settlement in Homesh contradicts the promise not to establish new settlements beyond the nine that were arranged in the cabinet decision when the government was formed. The State Department also said that the two leaders also discussed advancing normalization between Israel and Saudi Arabia.
The two also spoke extensively about Iran. Prime Minister Netanyahu reiterated his consistent position that a return to the nuclear agreement with Iran will not stop Iran's nuclear program and no agreement with Iran will obligate Israel to do everything possible to defend itself.
