A Palestinian who arrived at the Rantis crossing in Samaria in a stolen vehicle attacked a combatant on Friday morning and was neutralized. The soldier sustained minor injuries. The IDF is investigating the incident, which at this stage appears to be criminal.
The IDF Spokesperson said it was an "attack on a combatant and an attempt to hijack a weapon." According to the IDF, "A suspect drove up to the crossing, attacked an IDF soldier operating there and tried to grab his weapon. In response, another soldier operating in the area fired at the suspect. The suspect was neutralized. After searching the area, a knife was found. The soldier sustained minor injuries and received medical treatment at the point."
Only about a week ago, a shooting attack was reported that took place at the "BBQ Junction" in the area between Homesh and Shavei Shomron. An IDF soldier sustained minor shrapnel wounds to his leg and was evacuated for medical treatment. Five bullets were fired at an IDF force from the direction of the village of Deir Sharaf.
