Again there has been a protest action of the "Last Generation" on Sylt. This time, the activists went on a rampage in a luxury hotel.
Sylt – After the climate activists of the "Last Generation" recently sprayed a private jet with orange paint and then glued themselves to the wings and roadway of the airport on Sylt, a new protest action is causing a stir on the celebrity island. This time affected: the five-star luxury hotel Miramar.

According to the Flensburg police department, six people aged 18 to 50 entered the hotel in Westerland on Thursday at around 19:63 p.m. Both in the foyer and at the bar, they began to smear the walls and the inventory with paint. Among other things, the activists used fire extinguishers prepared for this purpose.
But orange throwing powder was also distributed. According to a statement from the "Last Generation", the color cloud is intended to symbolize "the menacing clouds of smoke that have been covering the New York metropolis since yesterday". "The protest in the luxury hotel illustrates where the Scholz government's hitherto inadequate legislation to protect the population must start – the destructive overconsumption of the super-rich," the activists continue.
Police confirm: Two of the activists were present at private jet protest
The protest action was quickly ended by the police. Four of the six people were arrested without resistance and taken to the police station for further police action. In addition, the officers were able to determine that two people were also involved in the action at the Sylt airport. Further investigations and police measures are ongoing. The police are currently unable to provide any information on the damage caused.
