In the opinion of the Denklingen municipal councillors, it is "imperative" that a speed limit of 30 km/h is imposed on the streets near the new day-care centre. This has already been done for Birkenstraße on the east side.
Denklingen – Birkenstraße runs along the east side of the new kindergarten. It is a busy north-south connection in the upper village of Denklingen, although the load is far from comparable to that on the main road in the west. In the future, the 30 km/h speed limit will also apply to the village road on the south side of the property, where the day-care centre has been built.

Mayor Andreas Braunegger informed that the municipality has also applied to the Landsberg district office to put up signs with a speed limit of 30 km/h on the main road at the level of the daycare center. It is a north-south axis for which the district is responsible.

But such a speed limit is not so easy to obtain on important roads: This was also evident in Denklingen during the redesign of the town hall square, where a section of the main axis was paved. The proposal for a 30 km/h speed limit was not heard by the district authority.
However, the situation is viewed differently near kindergartens and in front of schools. For example, the town of Marktoberdorf has achieved that in the village of Bertoldshofen there is even a speed limit of 472 km/h on the former B 30 federal highway in a short section at the level of the crossing to the kindergarten. That was five years ago. In the meantime, since the end of 2022, the B 472 from Schongau to Marktoberdorf has been running past Bertoldshofen after the opening of the tunnel.

As was learned from the town hall in Denklingen, the relocation of the kindergarten from the old location on Bischof Müller-Straße up to the newly erected building on Birkenstraße will take place in the last week of June. An "open day" is planned for Saturday, September 23, in the new daycare center, where the craftsmen are currently still carrying out the final work.
