After hitting a petrol pump in Eching, the driver first contacted a petrol station employee, but then fled home after all.
Eching – A 79-year-old Mercedes driver drove into a gas pump shortly after 3 a.m. on Friday on the grounds of a gas station on Untere Hauptstraße in Eching. He then stopped a few meters away and contacted the employee of the gas station. She told him to wait, as he had caused an accident. The person who caused the accident did not wait and drove home.

There he finally got a visit from the police, who had called the employee. A voluntary breath alcohol test of the person who caused the accident showed a value of just under 0.8 per thousand.
The man's driver's license was confiscated and the 79-year-old had to undergo a blood test at the Freising Hospital. In addition, a criminal case was initiated for endangering road traffic due to alcohol and for unauthorized removal from the scene of the accident, according to the police report. The accident damage amounts to around 3000 Euro.ft
