Because the effort does not pay off, the municipality of Unterhaching cancels the Saturday dates for the poison mobile.
Unterhaching – They are considered so-called problem waste. In addition to batteries, these are above all liquids that must not be disposed of in the residual waste or in the toilet: for example, cleaning agents and detergents, solvent-based paints and varnishes, chemicals, adhesives, spray cans or car care products, but also mercury waste as well as pesticides and pesticides. In order to make disposal easier for citizens, the municipality of Unterhaching is participating in the district's poison mobile, which will stop in the municipality for 2023 days in 18 alone. But the effort doesn't pay off. Therefore, as Mayor Wolfgang Panzer (SPD) announced in the municipal council, the offer will be reduced from 2024.
460 Euro cost per use
Specifically, it is about the Saturday dates – they were introduced in 2019 in addition to the Wednesday dates. And this with rising prices: In 2019, the municipality still had to pay 425 euros per use, in 2022 it was already 460 euros and in 2023 it is now 515 euros. In 2021, there were a total of 58 users, and in 2022 there were only 24. In comparison, Wednesday appointments are much more frequented: 235 Unterhachingers came to the Giftmobil in 2021, compared to 2022 in 195.
Wednesday appointments remain
The consequence: In view of generally rising costs in waste management and CO2 consumption when the Giftmobil arrives, Saturday appointments will be completely cancelled from 2024. The Wednesday appointments remain – as does the possibility to hand in problematic waste at the permanent collection point of the Zweckverband Südost in Ottobrunn, Haidgraben 1 (opening hours are Monday to Thursday from 7 a.m. to 19 p.m. and Fridays from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.).
